About Workplace Stress Management and Resilience
Level: skills and knowledge development, CPD

If you are working as a therapist, you may already know something about stress. Unfortunately, this is not always enough to help you deal effectively with clients suffering from occupational stress, as there are specific legal and practical issues which need to be taken into account. As a specialist in work related stress, there are also opportunities to work with employers, either by accepting one to one referrals, or by offering seminars and workshops to groups of employees at high risk from workplace stress.
This online stress management course will enable you to work confidently and expertly in this very rewarding field. The course has been revised and extended in 2018 and now includes:
- Module One - what is stress
- Module Two - overview of work related stress
- Module Three - factors in occupational stress
- Module Four - stress management techniques and skills
- Module Five - reslience
- Module Six - working within organisations
- Module Seven - the role of line managers
- Module Eight - seminars and public speaking
There is a work-book with detailed and informative notes divided into eight modules, each supported by an on-line slide show which provides additional information, or works through examples. Here's the first to give you a taster - the others are only viewable if you sign up for the course.
The course includes suggestions for independent study, handouts and worksheets to use with your clients, and two hypnotherapy scripts suitable for clients with work related stress issues.
While you are working through the course, your tutor can be phoned or emailed for advice at any point. We'll also sign you up for our monthly newsletter, which includes tips about building your business and working with clients.
This course has been 'test driven', and our test drivers took an average of 9 hours to complete it. You can start the course at any time and there is no time limit on completing it.
Feedback on this course:
I found the course exactly what I needed at the moment. Good balance between information and exercises. Would highly recommend it - and already have. Dr Hugh Quigley PhD
I think that the course offers an excellent mix of text, exercises, and activities which kept me engaged. I particularly liked the supporting slide-shows and found these very beneficial. I found the course challenging at times, which is a positive attribute as it make me concentrate hard and learn about new areas. I am also pleased that the course provides activity sheets that I can use with clients. Sharon Akers, Baildon
I particularly enjoyed deciding how I would present the course to Mr Blogg's employees. Although I do not have an intention at the moment of working with groups I found the concept of thinking about what I could do engaging, and it actually gave me a sense that I could do this (which is new!) Dawn Lilburn, York
Very interesting topic and although I work with clients suffering different levels of stress regularly, there were things that I had not thought of that I've learned here. The course work is in depth and great to understand if one is going to do Stress Management training. Although I didn't need any support I do know it was there if I felt it was needed.
