Are you looking for Smoking Cessation Certification?
In 2016, about two-thirds of those who are smoking say they would like to quit. This online course will help you work with those people effectively and professionally, to help them maximise their chances of success. The course includes guidelines about running quit smoking sessions for both groups and individuals, and looks at how to run a successful smoking cessation practice. There is a workbook divided into eight modules, which will take you through a thorough look at working in this area. This includes:
- the background and history of smoking
- what's in a cigarette?
- cigarettes and health
- why smokers smoke
- will power and other excuses, the benefits of quitting
- methods of quitting
- working with clients, one to one and in groups
- a Directory of Techniques to use when supporting those who wish to quit smoking
Plenty of support is available from your personal tutor, who will be available to answer your queries and provide feedback as you move through the workbook. You will have access to frequently updated research material, and an associated peer support group both during and after your training. And we'll sign you up for our monthly newsletter which has tips about building your business and working with clients.
This is a Diploma level course so you should expect to invest time in completing it. We anticipate an average completion time of around 50-60 hours, although this will vary depending how quickly you read and how much additional reading you undertake.
This smoking cessation course has been accredited at level 3 by the ACCPH, which means it can be taken as a Diploma in its own right as well as being an excellent CPD opportunity for those already established in talking therapies or the caring professions.
Those who successfully complete this course are eligible for membership of the ACCPH and also the Central Register of Smoking Cessation Therapists. Most students complete it within three to ten months.
